East Limestone doubled up Madison County 30-15 Thursday night in Gurley in the Indians’ final game of the 2008 football season.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Indians scored touchdowns in each of the next three quarters, two in the fourth quarter, and added a field goal in the final stanza. All of the Tigers’ scoring came in the fourth quarter.
Devin Robinson, Marquise Jefferson and Drake Lewter each scored rushing touchdowns for East, while Manley Carpenter hooked up with Javin Thatch on a 69-yard TD pass. Grant Talbert added 3 points-after-touchdown and a field goal to round out the scoring.
Manley hit three of nine passes on the night for 92 yards with one TD and one interceptiion
Ten players ran the ball for the Indians, gaining 263 yards on 51 rushes. Bruce Boydstun was the leading rusher with 59 yards on nine carries. Robinson added 50 yards on seven carries.
The Indians finished the regular season with a 6-4 mark, failing to qualify for postseason play.

The Colts continued their winning ways Thursday spoiling the home-standing Eagles senior night.
Clements’ scores came on a 7-yard touchdown run by Brandon Sanderfer, a 23-yard fumble recovery by Scott Chapman and a safety.
With the win, the Colts extended their winning streak to six games and finish the regular season with a 7-3 record. They travel to Winston County next Friday for the opening round of the Class 2A state playoffs.
