— Athens Bible notched their first volleyball win of the season recently, defeating Whitesburg Christian and Randolph in a tri-match.
The Class 1A, second-ranked Lady Trojans beat Whitesburg Christian 25-21, 25-20 and 25-14 and Randolph 25-20, 25-18.
Elizabeth Anne Shaver had 13 kills, 22 assists and five aces for Athens Bible. Makayla Melvin had 17 kills and four aces. Ceci Ivey had 14 kills, while Mallorie Cowart had 15 assists. Mallor Bauer and Emily Irwin had eight digs each.
At press time Saturday, the Lady Trojans were in action against Randolph.
