Former Athens standout Alfred McCullough recently agreed to a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens following a standout career with the University of Alabama. McCullough was one of Alabama’s most versatile lineman, starting 10 games during his career with the Crimson Tide.
The Athens Alum was one of seven Alabama players to sign free agent contracts this week after not being selected in the 2012 NFL draft.
McCullough was once a feared defensive lineman coming out of Athens High School in 2007. The two-time All-State defensive lineman switched to the offensive side of the ball after his freshman season.
McCullough was named the team’ Most Valuable Lineman of the Red-White game in 2008 before switching to offense over the summer. The versatile lineman redshirted his second year on campus while making the transition to offense and eventually saw action in more than 30 games over his career with Alabama.
