CBS to televise Iron Bowl

The Southeastern Conference announced today that CBS Sports will televise the Alabama-Auburn game on Saturday, Nov. 29 from Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. (CST).

Alabama has made nine television appearances, including eight national telecasts this season. The Crimson Tide has been on television against Clemson (ABC), Arkansas (Raycom), Georgia (ESPN), Kentucky (CBS), Ole Miss (CBS), Tennessee (ESPN), LSU (CBS) and Mississippi State (ESPN).

Alabama and Auburn will be meeting for the 73rd time in history with the Crimson Tide holding a 38-33-1 series lead. The two teams first met in 1892 and met 12 times until the series was halted after a 6-6 tie following the 1907 season. After a 41-year absence the series resumed in 1948 with Alabama posting a 55-0 win at Legion Field. The 2008 game will mark the 61st meeting since the renewal of the series.

The 2008 Alabama-Auburn game will be the 34th televised game in the series, dating back to the very first televised game in 1964. Alabama owns a 17-16 record in those previous 33 games. The Alabama-Auburn game is being televised for the 15th consecutive year and for the 28th time in the last 29 seasons. CBS Sports will be televising its 10th Alabama-Auburn game this year.
