Guest opinion: A letter on Veterans Day to all who served

Dear Veteran:

You didn’t die on the beaches of Normandy so 13 soldiers could be murdered at Fort Hood by a nut in a robe.

You didn’t die on the frozen ground of Korea so 13 soldiers could be murdered at Fort Hood by a nut in a robe.

You didn’t die in the steamy jungles of Vietnam so twelve soldiers could be murdered at Fort Hood by a nut in a robe.

You didn’t die in the desert of Iraq so twelve soldiers could be murdered at Fort Hood by a nut in a robe.

Maybe Archie Bunker said it best.

“ … Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days! Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight. … Girls were girls and men were men. ... People seemed to be content… Freaks were in a circus tent. … Hair was short and skirts were long…. I don't know just what went wrong! Those Were the Days!”

When the Constitution was written it was beyond anyone’s wildest dreams that America one day would be overrun with people that did not want to work, that did not want to better themselves, that only wanted to ask “What can America do for me?” and “How much can I get for free?” — stingy people, sorry people, scum of the earth people, people whose family tree does not fork very often, people who are the poster child for Unplanned Parenthood.

In the beginning the immigrants that came to America, your ancestors, my ancestors, were their country’s best. They only wanted a fair chance — Europeans, Mexicans, Chinese, Russians — they all wanted the same thing, an opportunity. Even the Africans, who arrived under the terrible institution of bondage (even though their own people put them there), believed in the American idea of “you reap what you sow” and once freed from the bonds of slavery, made the most of the opportunity and became true red blooded, flag waving, let me show you what I can do members of American society.

It’s time for true Americans of all colors to say a few things. Here they are.

Americans believe in God. Christian men and women founded this nation on Christian principles. If God offends you then you need to find a new home (planes and ships go the other direction just as fast), because God is part of our culture.

Immigrants, not Americans, must adapt. Take it or leave it. The American culture and social mores have been developed over nearly 300 years of struggles, trials, and victories of men and women of many colors, creeds, and cultures. We speak English. Learn it if you wish to become part of our society.

We are tired of our own people being sorry, becoming slaves of government handouts, with no hope or desire of ever breaking the cycle of ignorance and poverty. We are through bending over backwards to make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy. You must take advantage of the educational opportunities in America or you will just “die on the vine.” We are tired of condoning your laziness. We are tired of making excuses for your sorriness. We are tired of your grandparents raising your children. We are tired of you crying prejudice. We are tired of four generations of the same American family being on welfare. We are tired of the tattoos, body piercings, and the immodest clothing. We are tired of you spending your money on beer and cigarettes instead of health care and now expect working Americans to pick up the tab. We are just tired of you. Black Americans work, red Americans work, yellow Americans work, white Americans work. Why can’t you work?

Everyone is welcome to sit down and be a part of America, come into our homes, eat at our tables, play with our children, go to our churches, even tailgate with us at football games but you must adapt to America; we are through adapting to you.

America offers you one right you haven’t claimed yet — the right to leave.

It will take many years, one election at a time, to replace all members of Congress with God-fearing, flag-waving Americans. Once that is accomplished, then we can replace the federal judges with the same type of men and women.

One hundred thirty years ago the American Indian was sitting just where the God-fearing, red-blooded, flag-waving American citizen is sitting today. They sat, watched, and waited, believing that the invaders from the east were honest and forthright, spoke the truth, and truly wanted everyone to live happily ever after. They waited too long and the invaders took all they held dear — land, possessions, children, and finally their way of life. Now all God-fearing, red-blooded Americans of all races have become the Indian of 1879. How long will we wait? Will we wait until it’s too late or will we say enough!

It has to start somewhere. Let’s start it right here in Athens, Alabama — next election, no tree hugging, whale kissing, global warming, Adam & Steve believing, no nuts with weak gene pools, only God-fearing, flag-waving Americans with some common sense. Tell all the others to “take a hike.”

2 Thessalonians 3:10 - For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Dear Veteran:

You served and died to preserve the American way of life. We are going to honor your memory by doing a little preservation of our own.

To Everyone Now Living in America:

If you don’t believe in the America we know, the in God we trust, the land of the free, the home of the brave, then just leave. No one really liked you very much anyway. We just tolerated you because we thought you wanted a chance, an opportunity, a start. But, all you ever wanted was to tarnish the memories of our heroes. We will not stand for that. God bless America.
