The funeral for Frances Sparkman Hagood, 83, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McConnell Funeral Home with Eddie Gooch and Dr. David Parker officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hagood was born April 2, 1927, in Limestone County to Robert Oscar Kelly and Era Sandlin Kelly. She was a member of Tanner United Methodist Church. She enjoyed needlework, her family and friends.
Mrs. Hagood was preceded in death by her parents and by her first husband, John Sparkman, father of Mark Sparkman.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Walter O. Hagood; son, Mark Samuel Sparkman; stepson, Steven Hagood and wife Sharon; stepdaughter, Mrs. Roger Smith of Illinois; brother, Robert O. Kelly Jr., of Tanner; sister, Eva Mae Crutchfield of Tanner; grandchildren, Arminda Reed and husband Patrick, Caleb Smith and wife Nicky, Nathaniel Smith and girlfriend Donniele; and great-grandchildren, Heather and Haleigh Hagood of Illinois.
The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Limestone County and Tanner United Methodist Church.
