Leisha Hardin

— Leisha Johnson Hardin, 52, daughter of the late Morris Malone Johnson Sr. and the late Helen Neely Johnson, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

A resident of Greenville, S.C., she was born in Decatur on Feb. 19, 1961, and spent her childhood in Athens.

Leisha graduated from Athens Bible School in 1979, attended The University of Alabama and graduated from Hollins College in Roanoke, Va., in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. In addition to pursuing a major in psychology, she developed a keen interest in photography and art, both of which continued to be passions throughout her life. She truly loved the Hollins College community and cherished the many friends and memories she made there and remained an active alumnae attending many reunions in the 1990s and 2000s.

Upon graduation from Hollins, Leisha began a nine year career as a paralegal with the Womble Carlyle law firm in Winston-Salem, N.C., eventually moving to Maguire Woods in Richmond, Va., and finally to the Haynsworth firm in Greenville, S.C.

In 1995, pursuing her longtime passion for the arts, Leisha started LH Interiors and began a second career as an interior decorator.  She loved the business of decorating and had a real eye for detail, color and style.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Olivia Hardin of Greenville; a brother, Morris Malone Johnson Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; a niece, Julia Bickley Johnson and nephew, Morris Malone Johnson III, both of Huntsville.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery on U.S. 31 North at Forrest Street in Athens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Historic Grounds Restoration of Christ Episcopal Church, 10 North Church Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
