The funeral for Hester Easter Mitchell, 90, of Athens will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Central Church of Christ. Viewing hours are from 3-4 p.m. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at Spry Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at home.
Hester Mitchell was born April 7, 1922, in Limestone County. She retired from First Alabama Bank in Athens. Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed travel, her family and friends. She was a member of Athens Garden Club, and a member of Central Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Della Legg Easter; sisters, Maxine Easter Leonard and Louise Easter Cox.
Survivors include her sister, Reba E. Wallace of Decatur; nieces, Joan Guice of Decatur, Judy Evans, Carol Terry and Sandra Kiel, all of Athens, and Lynn Creighton of Birmingham; nephews, Bill Leonard of Atlanta, Mitchell Lester of Athens, George Mitchell of Norcross, Ga., Jay Mitchell and Alan Mitchell, both of Birmingham; several great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Leonard, Tim Bjornseth, Mitchell Lester, Brian Evans, Jay Mitchell and Alan Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers are J.W. Mitchell, Roland Guice, Gerald Gamble, Gilbert Penley, David Evans and David Linn.
