Graveside service for John W. Chisholm, 74, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Bassham Jr. officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Chisholm passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his home. He was born March 12, 1938, in Baldwin, Miss., to John Curtis Chisholm and Hortense Duncan. He retired from 3M Decatur after 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Chisholm is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Chisholm; one son, Joel C. Chisholm and wife Regina of Athens; grandson, Clay Chisholm of Athens; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Chisholm of Athens; brother, David Chisholm and wife Rose Marie of Athens; sister, Sharon Shelton and husband George of Tuscaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Crawford, Robert Hubbs, John Hubbs, Gregg Pirtle, David Baine and Ley Chisholm.
