Thomas Vernon Strain

Thomas Vernon Strain Sr., 64, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Mr. Strain was born June 13, 1948, in Limestone County to Hugh Vernon Strain and Euffie Gordon Strain.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Pat Driskell officiating.

Mr. Strain was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by three sons, Tom V. Strain Jr. and wife Tara, Nick Strain and wife Ruth, and Cordy Strain and wife Sabrina; one sister, Sue Soloman; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Preston Murrey, Steve Hawkersmith, Jay Solomon, Ronnie McLin, Michael Hobbs, Gideon Flanagan, Donnie Burgreen and Bobby Bassham. Honorary pallbearers will be Haze Solomon, Jacob Strain, Bill Strain, Gene Strain, Fred Ader, Winston Spencer, Walter Crutcher and Bobby Sanderson.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Limestone County or Shriners Hospitals for Children in Greenville, S.C.
