Genevieve Hetrick Vaughn

— A graveside service for Genevieve Hetrick Vaughn, 83, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Athens City Cemetery with Edwin Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vaughn died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Born June 20, 1929, in Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Vaughn was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens and had retired from Athens Utilities. She was preceded in death by husbands James Millard Fincher and Fred Vaughn.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her daughter, Gail Mayo and husband Bill of Amelia, Va.; one granddaughter, Beth Littrell Cobb and husband Greg of Athens; two great-granddaughters, Maizie Cobb and Lilah Cobb; sister, Barbara Sulcer and husband James of Athens; three nephews, Jim Sulcer, Steve Sulcer and Rodney Bailey; and many cousins.

Pallbearers will be Greg Cobb, Jim Sulcer, Steve Sulcer, Blake Sulcer, Brian Sulcer, Andrew Sulcer and Bill Mayo.
