ATHENS —
The funeral for Jocy “Mama Helen”Adams Elders, 72, of Fountain, Fla., will be at 2 p.m. today at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Daryl Lamb and Kathy Freeman Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.
Mrs. Elders died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in West Florida Hospital.
She was born Feb. 7, 1938, in Detroit, Ala. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Florida and had retired from ConAgra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Adams Sr.; a son, Aubrey Adams Jr.; and two daughters, Phyllis Peoples and Melissa Adams.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Freeman Lamb of Fountain, Fla., and Khristal Adams Spasser of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Leona North of Jasper; eight grandchildren, Andrea Adams, Amber Spivey, Kim Adams, Chasity Adams, Brittaney Freeman Evans, Lindsie Adams, Joshua Freeman and Krissy Pike; and 12 great-grandchildren, Lillian Holt, Weston Brown, Jaden Evans, Lewis Spivey, Emma Adams, Evan Spivey, Kylee Murtha, Alexis Allen, Kourtney Allen, Joshua Allen, Addison Crawford and Kylie Jo Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Josh Freeman, Jeffrey Evans, Jonathan Allen, Nathan Adams, Matthew Jarrett, B.J. Jarrett, Jeff Evans and Tim Dalton.
