Virginia Ann Chittam



Virginia Ann Chittam, 66, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Athens Nursing Home.

Mrs. Chittam was born July 14, 1946, in Limestone County to Lawrence S. Southard and Wynema Smith Southard.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chittam was a long-time employee of Dub’s Burgers, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Walmart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Don Chittam; and a son, Ronnie Chittam.

Survivors include a daughter, Sirena Pugh and husband Barran of Athens; brother, Lawrence W. Southard and wife, Anita of Athens; sisters, Juanita Tate and husband David of Nashville, Tenn., and Charlene Brannan and husband, Paul of Montgomery; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are Chris Southard, Barry Craig, Chris Craig, Austin Chittam, Dacota Pugh, Tracer Pugh and Stephan Southard. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters; Kristena Chittam, Kayla Pugh and Harley Pugh; and great-grandson, Carter Chittam.
