Martha Armstrong

Martha Wood Armstrong, 86, of Athens, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at Limestone Health Facility. 

Services for Mrs. Armstrong will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. 

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Colin McKee and Ray Hill officiating. 

Mrs. Armstrong was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Arkadelphia to Talmadge A. Mitchell and Nellie Florence Hall Mitchell. She was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Reedy Armstrong of Athens; sons, James Milton Armstrong and wife Angela of Athens, Wayne Nelson Armstrong and wife Carolyn of Fayette, and Roberts A. Armstrong and wife Lynn of Wilmington, Del.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James Robert Mitchell and wife Helen of Adamsville; sisters, Rheanell Hoomes and husband Clayton of Cleveland, and Ellen Ann McKee and husband Colin of Hayden; several nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers are David Armstrong, Tim Armstrong, Chris Armstrong, Nathan Armstrong, Lane Galloway and Chad Galloway.  Honorary pallbearers are the men of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
