The funeral for James Horace Dungy, 78, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Ray Pettit and Joel Logan officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Dungy passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Athens Rehabilitation and Senior Care.
James Dungy was born Feb. 6, 1934, in Limestone County, to Charles James Wesley Dungy and Delaney Estelle Scroggins Dungy. He was a retired antique dealer and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Dungy was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Dungy.
Survivors include sons, Jimmy Dungy of Athens and Johnny Dungy of Huntsville; daughters, Vickie Gandy and Nancy Johnson, both of Athens, Lorie Tart of Huntsville, Tammy D. Davis of Pulaski, Tenn., and Allison Littleton of Elkmont; sister, Dee Black of Athens; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
