John Kenneth Fox, 62, of Athens passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital after an extended illness.
He was a native of Lawrence County, Tenn.
Mr. Fox was a retired TVA security manager. He was a member and deacon at New Life Assembly of God Church in Athens. He obtained his associate degree in secondary education at Columbia State Community College and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for three and a half years. He was an avid Tennessee fan.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mimosa Cemetery with Bro. James Turner and Pastor Rob Phraner officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at New Life Assembly of God Church in Athens.
Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Saturday at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, LaWanda Isbell Fox of Athens; son, Kenneth E. Fox of Athens; brother, Jerry T. Fox and wife Linda of Saint Joseph, Tenn.; two sisters, Kathy L. Barnett and husband Dale of Center Hill and Becky Pettus and husband Henry of Lexington; brother-in-law, Terry R. Isbell of Athens; special extended family, Barbara Powers and family, Aaron and Heather Glad and children and Matt and Gretchen Wade and children, the Phraners and family; three nephews; four nieces; and a companion, his black lab Cassie.
Pallbearers are Donnie Robinson, J.D. Jones, Virgil Ashley, John Morrow, Aaron Glad, James Brazell, Matt Wade and Brian Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronny LeCroy, Justin Isbell and Roger Bailey.
