The graveside service for Gladys Ozell Burnett, 94, of Athens will be at 4 p.m. today at Limestone Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dave Basinger and Wayne Kuykendall officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.
Visitation is from 3-3:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burnett died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Limestone Health Facility.
Gladys Burnett was born March 28, 1918, in Cullman County, the fourth of five children born to Charles and Emma Frances Powell. She was the wife of Athens businessman H.E. “Hank” Burnett. Mrs. Burnett was a member of the church of Christ, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Taft, Joel Carmen “Dude”, Fred; and her sister, Estelle Powell.
Survivors include son, Kenneth Burnett and wife Betty of Athens; granddaughters, Angela Burnett and fiancé Tim Bell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Frances Burnett Stevenson and husband Mike of Athens; three step-granddaughters; two nieces; three great-grandsons; sisters-in-law, Maxine Baker of Birmingham and Anice Powell of Baileytown.
