Lyndon Joel Campbell, 82, of Athens passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Floyd “Tut” Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville.
The funeral for Mr. Campbell will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Bill Perkins officiating.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Lyndon Campbell was born Jan. 22, 1930, in Marmaduke, Ark., to Barney B. Campbell and Pasty E. Robertson Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a member of Central Church of Christ in Athens. He previously served as an elder in churches he attended in the St. Louis area. He was also a member of the American Legion and president of Diamond Pointe Home Owners for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Peggy Jane Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Campbell; sons, Lyndon J. Campbell II and wife Rita, Stephen G. Campbell and wife Cheryl and Craig H. Campbell and wife Denise; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Daniel Campbell, Andrew Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Jarrin Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Justin Campbell and Jacob Campbell.
