Charles Andrews

— The funeral for Charles Malcolm Andrews, 81, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with Scott Richardson and Phillip Owens officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Andrews died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Limestone Health Facility.

Charles Andrews was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Limestone County. He was a member of Jackson Drive Church of Christ in Athens where he served for 43 years as an elder. Mr. Andrews retired from Wolverine Tube in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard B. and Bertha Andrews; son, Roger L. Andrews; brother, Carter Andrews; and sister, Dot Andrews Bates.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joyce Allen Andrews of Athens; son, Tony Andrews and wife Camille of Athens; daughter, Joan Brasfield and husband Jim of Athens; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Price Andrews of Athens; grandchildren, Brandy Simmons and husband Brandon, Amber Lovell and husband Will, Shannon Andrews, Tiffany Andrews, Bree McCarley and husband Christopher, Stacy Harris and husband Bryan; great-grandchildren, Emma Lovell, William Lovell, Addison Simmons and Cooper Simmons.

Pallbearers are Will Lovell, Brandon Simmons, Christopher McCarley, Bryan Harris, Mike Pressnell and David Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Matlock, Bill Roberts, Buddy Baugher, Owen Griggs, Tim Hamilton, Bill Smith, men of Jackson Drive Church of Christ, the late Billy Lovell, Marvin Whitt.
