The funeral service for Julian “Buddy” Ray Tyler, 71, of Athens will be at noon Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Anderson and Lynn Marshall officiating. Burial will be Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Tyler died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Athens.
Julian “Buddy” Ray Tyler was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Limestone County. He was a member of Round Island Baptist Church in Athens. He was a front-end auto mechanic.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Juanita Tyler of Athens; daughter, Bonnie Baldwin and husband Michael of Elkmont; sons, Julian Tracy Tyler and wife Dorinda of Athens and Nathan Ray Tyler and wife Melodi of Athens; grandchildren, Brandon Baldwin of Elkmont and Neeci Tyler and Shaeli Tyler, both of Athens; brother, Charles Tyler of Dixon, Mo.; sister, Betty Jane Dollar of Athens; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Nathan Tyler, Mike Baldwin, Ray Smith, Tony Hasting, Johnny McDonald, Lloyd Hightower, Donny Casebolt and Jimmy Christopher.
Honorary pallbearers are Alfred McCowan, Randy Bates, Larry Harvey, Mark Dison and Mike Blakely.
