The funeral for Helen Paulette Jackson Spicer, 69, of Lester will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Bassham officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Fischer Cemetery in Ft. Payne.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spicer died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at her home.
She was born April 1, 1943, in Dekalb County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Athens, a retired fifth grade teacher at Cowart and Athens Intermediate schools. She was a 1967 graduate of Auburn University and a 1994 graduate of the Masters Program at the University of North Alabama.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Russell Spicer Jr. of Lester; a sister, Lee Antoinette Jackson Easterwood of Talladega; and two nieces, Gabrielle Easterwood and Elizabeth Hamilton, both of Talladega.
