Jimmy Ray Cole

— Jimmy Ray Cole, 76, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Cole was born June 30, 1936, in Limestone County to Claude Raymond Cole and Sadie Irene Tribble Cole.

Services for Mr. Cole are at 11 a.m. at at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Bassham officiating. 

Mr. Cole was retired from Monsanto/Solutia. He was a former City Councilman and also a former Lion’s Club member. He was involved with the RSVP Volunteer Income Tax Program.  He was a Family Security Board member and also a member of First United Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Cole of Athens; daughter, Cindy Cole of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, John Cole and wife Donna McDaniel Cole, and Bruce Cole and wife Kaye, both of Athens; sister, Bonnie Cole Henderson and husband Wayne of Harvest; grandchildren, Ryan Cole, Alex Cole, Hunter Meeks and Ryan Meeks.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Cole, Alex Cole, Tony Barber, Phillip Barber, Bryon Scott, Jason Edgemon, Hunter Meeks and Ryan Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Burgreen, Clifton Poole, Marvin Todd, Powell Cole, Joe Daly, Ray Tribble and Wayne Henderson.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Athens or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
