Lisa Mitchell McConnaughhay, 48, passed away Aug. 26, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. The funeral was August 30 at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem, Ill., with Rob Slover officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, Ill.

Lisa was born Nov. 30, 1963, to Billy and Nellie D. (Craig) Mitchell in Athens. She graduated from Athens Bible School in 1982. She married Steve E. McConnaughhay of Iuka, Ill.

She was a member of Ohio Street Church of Christ in Salem, Ill. She was a homemaker. Lisa was active in local homes-schooling group activities with her son. She enjoyed volunteering in the Marion County 4-H Club’s activities where her son was a member. Lisa was a loving daughter, wife, mother and sister.

Survivors include her husband, Steve E. McConnaughhay; one son, Jonathan McConnaughhay of Iuka, Ill.; her parents, Billy and Nellie D. (Craig) Mitchell of Athens; one sister, Kathy Steele and husband Greg; her parents-in-law, Jim and Karen McConnaughhay; grandmother-in-law, Myrtle Fields; brother-in-law, Gary McConnaughhay and wife Jenness of Salem, Ill.; a number of uncles, aunts and cousins of Alabama; and her best friend, Kelly Hall of Lacey’s Spring.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
