Frank John Jamerson, 75, of Killen died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at home.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Coffield Jamerson; and three sons, Randy (Jerrell) of Helena, Byron of Killen and Allen and wife Julie of Trussville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geri Geiger and husband Bob of Lake City, Fla., Lenda Page and husband Charlie of Newberry, Fla., Loretta Lyell and husband Doug of Bell, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Lula B. Jamerson of Bell, Fla.; sister, Gay Nell; and daughter, Jill.
In his 53 years of faithfully preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Frank served churches in Richmond, Va.; Louisville, Ky.; Cordele and Columbus Ga.; Dothan; Lakeland, Fla.; and Killen, and made 14 teaching trips to Romania.
He served as an elder in both Dothan and Lakeland and was the author of 16 workbooks for the Living Letters series of Bible studies, as well as workbooks on the Godhead, Bible Authority, N.T. Church, Giving, and on Elders & Deacons.
His strengths were his steadiness, ability to keep peace and in personal teaching.
The funeral services will be at Greenhill Funeral Home in Florence, conducted by Phil Robertson, Steve Lee and David Bunting. All were mentored by Frank while living in Dothan.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory in Dothan. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory where Mr. Jamerson will be buried alongside their daughter, Jill.
