Almon Terry

— The Rev. Almon Terry, 87, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2012.

He was born Dec. 4, 1924. He served as a Baptist minister for 40 years, graduating from Tennessee Temple Bible College. The Rev. Terry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Virginia Terry; daughters, Lois LaPierre and husband Robert, Ann Walls and husband Clarence; sons, James Terry and wife Miriam, Wayne Terry and wife Jo Ann; granddaughters, Ginger Cochran and Amiee White; grandsons, Keith Cochran, Troy, David and Marine Corps Cpl. Justin Terry, Derek and Rodney Walls; great-grandchildren, Charity Terry, Shelby Walls, Kristy and Adam White.

Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at McConnell Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McConnell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Huntsville with the Rev. Mike Westmoreland officiating.
