Violet Marie Mattox, 76, of Athens passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Limestone Lodge.
Mrs. Mattox was born March 18, 1936, in Cullman. She was a member of East Highland Baptist Church.
The funeral for Mrs. Mattox will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Eric Mattox and Wes Mattox officiating.
Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Mattox.
Survivors include her sons, Wes Mattox and wife Janet, Eric Mattox and wife Tammy and Wade Mattox and wife Donna; daughter, Belinda McCracken; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and sister, Thelene New.
Pallbearers are Jason McCracken, Will McCracken, Paul Mattox, Adam Mattox, Patrick Mattox and Lee Mattox. Honorary pallbearers are her sons, Wes Mattox, Eric Mattox and Wade Mattox.
