Beverly Jane Godlove Knowles, 88, of Athens, died at home Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
Mrs. Knowles was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Lost River, W. Va., to Arthur Godlove and Tercie Wilson. She was a member of the O’Neal Church of Christ for many years.
The funeral service for Mrs. Knowles will be at 3 p.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in O’Neal Cemetery with Guy McDaniel officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by one son, Doyle Knowles and wife Pat of Athens; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Beck Knowles of Athens; her granddaughters, Carla Knowles Bond and husband David of Decatur, Tara Knowles and special friend Kathy Linzey of Florence, Michelle Knowles Burcham and husband Chris of Danville, Casey Knowles and friend Jarvis Moore of Athens, and Laura Knowles of Danville; her grandsons, T.J. Hannah and wife Jessica of Ardmore, Robert Hannah and wife Sarah of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Jack Watts and wife Amber of Manchester, Tenn.; her great-grandchildren, Wood Bond, Jonathan Bond, Shawn Johnson, Brandon Linzey, Jordan Linzey, Katelyn Linzey, Regan Burcham, Mallory Burcham, Dalton Chalus, Colton Watts, Kellen Watts and Jackson Hannah; her stepchildren, Brenda Smith Neely and husband Harold, Jerry Smith and wife Cathy, Charles Smith and wife Judy, Judy Smith Roberts and husband Jim, and Freddy Smith and wife Charlotte, all of Athens; her great-great-grandson, Tucker Linzey; her sister, Genevive Godlove Heischman of Grotto, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Ordway Knowles; her second husband, Daryl Smith; and her son, Franklin Rickey Knowles.
Men of O’Neal Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers.
