On Friday Aug. 24, 2012, at 10 a.m., Barbara Walker Bowling passed away. She was a resident of Athens Health & Rehab, 611 W. Market St., Athens, AL 35611.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Eugene Bowling, 69; a brother, Wayne Cromer; a sister, Linda R. Clayton; a granddaughter, Candy L. Stanley, 32; and a grandson, Jonathan D. Oberlies, 20.
She leaves behind five children, Donald W. Bowling and wife Terry, Rita F. Powell and husband Richard, Terry W. Bowling and wife Tamera, B. Kim Tolley and husband Stephen, and Tammy M. Baumgartner and husband Joe.
She is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Jane Harrell, Charlton Cromer and wife Ann, Dawkins Cromer and wife Betty, Larry Cromer, and Drucilla Wood. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
She was loved by all who knew her. We are saddened by her passing but we are grateful God has given her, her halo and wings. Her soul and spirit free to soar as high as she wants, with no limits or boundaries. We will miss her dearly. The family is doing a small private memorial service and is very grateful to all for the support and prayers.
