The funeral for Mary Glynn Elliott, 80, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home with Sherry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.
Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Elliott died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at River City Health & Rehabilitation.
Mary Elliott was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Lauderdale County. She retired from First Federal Savings & Loan in Decatur. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Decatur where she served as a former president of Suzanna’s Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Lowe and Birdie Annie Thornton Spry; son, Joey Elliott; granddaughter, Hannah Alexis Hadavi; brothers, Julius Spry, Royce Spry and Hoyt Spry; sisters, Sleetie Mitchell and Doris Russell.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Joe Elliott of Decatur; daughter, Renea Hadavi of Decatur; brother-in-law, H. M. Nowlin and wife Debbie of Huntsville; grandchildren, Elliott Hadavi and wife Stacey of Trinity, Jenna Elliott Lipphardt and husband Sean of Ocala, Fla., Lindsey Elliott Stone and husband Barkley of Ocala, Ariana Hadavi Puckett and husband Matthew of Decatur; brothers, Sam Spry Jr. of Huntsville and James B. Spry of Center Star; four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Elliott Hadavi, Barkley Stone, Michael Putman, Sean Lipphardt, Jimmy Spry, Greg Spry, Mark Spry and Mitch Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Long, Butch Spry, Spry Mitchell, Layton Spry, Billy Russell, Tommy Russell, Bobby Russell and Pat Russell.
