The funeral for Harold “Buddy” Stewart, 78, of Tanner will be at 3 p.m. today at McConnell Funeral Home with Ralph Johnson and Charles Thompson officiating.
Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Harold Stewart was born May 25, 1934, in Limestone County to Ivan Stewart and Velma White Stewart. He retired from Turner-Universal Corporation (construction). Mr. Stewart was in the Army-Horse Platoon 287 Military Police Company. He volunteered for the Tanner Fire Department. Mr. Stewart was a member of Tanner United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lawler Stewart; one son, Harold “Hal” Stewart and wife Doris; one daughter, Melinda Rossetti and husband Allen; two brothers, William E. “Bill” Stewart, Franklin D. “Peewee” Stewart; three sisters, Laura Terry, Mildred Breeding and husband Jay O., Agnes Kelly and husband Bobby; four grandchildren, David D’Antonio, Jason Stewart and wife Courtney, Ashley Stewart and Nick D’Antonio; one great-grandchild, Savannah Rose Stewart.
Pallbearers are Richard Phillips, Ben Stewart, Tim Stewart, Stewart Terry, Steve Terry and Mike Terry.
Honorary pallbearers are David D’Antonio, Nick D’Antonio, James Paul Schrimsher, Jason Stewart, Charles Page, JC Lawler, Bobby Kelly and Billy Swanner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tanner United Methodist Church, Tanner Fire Department or your personal choice.
