William Cecil Elmore

The funeral for William Cecil Elmore, 92, of Decatur will be held in Leesburg, Fla., at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Spry Funeral Home in Athens.

Mr. Elmore died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at home.

He was born June 5, 1915, in Limestone County. He was a World War II Army veteran who retired from Lear Seigler Co. in Dearborn, Mich.

He is survived by his companion, Carlene Holt of Decatur; five stepchildren, Stacey Stephens and Danny Stephens, both of Hartselle, Karol Tapscott and Frank Tapscott, both of Decatur, and Don Holt of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Zac Stephens, Jake Stephens, Luke Stephens, Derek Tapscott, Rachel Tapscott, Bobby Tapscott and Michael Tapscott; and several cousins.



Lynda Reeves Evans

The funeral for Lynda Reeves Evans, 60, of Anderson will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Scott Moore officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Evans died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at home.

She was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Limestone County. She was a retired mail carrier for Lester Post Office and a member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville. She was loved by family.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Evans Sr. of Anderson; one daughter, Paula Phillips and husband James of Athens; one son, Benny Evans and fiancé Dawn Waller of Anderson; six grandchildren, Jamie Phillips, BreAnna Phillips, Sarah Evans, Trey Evans, Adam Moffatt and Benjamin Waller; three aunts, Evelyn Craig and husband Charlie, and Irene Bland, all of Columbia, Tenn., and Minnie Ruth Robinson of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Center of Huntsville.



John William Jackson

John William “Billy” Jackson, 77, of Anderson died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Spry Funeral Home in Athens.



Billy Douglas Mullins

The graveside service for Billy Douglas Mullins, 57, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. today at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens with the Rev. Calvin Havens officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mullins died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He retired from Delphi after 30 years of service. He was a member of Cross Key United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Mullins of Athens; two sons, Doug Mullins and wife Mandy of Toney and Grant Mullins and wife Lindsay of Homewood; one daughter, Heather Enskat and husband Adam of Athens; seven grandchildren, Ryan Mullins, Ethan Mullins, Fiona Mullins, Phinneas Mullins, Lily Enskat, Louis Enskat and Luther Enskat; four brothers, Larry Mullins of Mobile, Bobby Mullins of Moulton, Charles Mullins of Decatur and Mike Mullins of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Nancy Waddell of Decatur, Gina Thoele of Johnson City, Tenn., and Dianne Edwards of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Doug Mullins, Grant Mullins, Bobby Mullins, Mike Mullins, McKenzie Buchanan, Ryan Mullins, Greg Thomas and Ronald Crowe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andy George and George Fetter.
