Selena Cramer

Selena Cramer, 89, of Harvest died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at home. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce arrangements.



Lyndon Elbert Jeffreys

The funeral for Lyndon Elbert Jeffreys, 87, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Lawrence officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Jeffreys died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

He was born May 29, 1920, in Lawrence County. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, a World War II Army veteran and former owner of L.S. Insulation Co.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Jeffreys of Athens; one son, John S. Jeffreys of Athens; three daughters, Fran Nelson of Athens, Patti Clark of Rogersville and Brenda Pressnell of Harvest; three brothers, U.L. Jeffreys of Athens, Robert Jeffreys of Athens and Kyle Jeffreys of Athens; two sisters, Annie Hicks of Gardendale and Eula Posey of Athens; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.



Rosie Frances McLemore

The funeral for Rosie Frances McLemore, 95, of Madison will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Raburn officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. McLemore died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Cypress Inn, Tenn. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clytus J. McLemore; one son, Franklin McLemore; and one stepson, Roy McLemore.

She is survived by one son, Richard Martin and wife Dorothy of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters, Brenda Tate and husband Robert of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Pearlene Traina of Malden, Mass.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special neighbors, Ruby and Bill Mooney of Madison.

Pallbearers will be Eddie McDaniel, Donald McLemore, Chris Tate, Justin Winkles and Joey Traina.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Whorley and Jordan Whorley.



Jack Russell Underwood

Jack Russell Underwood, 81, of Huntsville passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in Seattle, Wash.

Born in Forrest City, Ark., he moved to Athens at age 1. He grew up in Athens, where he participated in sports and school politics, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. Military service took him overseas for World War II and the Korean War, working as a pharmacist’s mate. After returning from the wars, he moved to Huntsville in 1947 and worked for NASA for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was the night manager of the Universal Plaza Hotel from 1974 to 1980 and manager of the Brooks Apartments and Motel from 1982 to 2004. The past year he has been living in Seattle.

He is survived by his daughter, Jackie G.U. Hobbs and son-in-law David Hobbs, both of Seattle; and two grandchildren, Shafer Shafer of Seattle, and Hunter Shafer and wife Caroline Shafer and great-grandson, Lance Shafer, all of Long Beach, Calif.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Huntsville Memory Gardens.



James Wilson

The funeral for James Wilson, 64, of Athens will be at noon Monday at Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Thach-Mann Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at home.
