Kathy Lorene Clemmons
The funeral for Kathy Lorene Clemmons, 63, of Elkmont will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Doug Caulwell officiating. Burial will be in Sylone Cemetery in Elkmont.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clemmons died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at her residence.
She was born July 14, 1943, in Madison County to George E. Lankford and Loverna Oline Clark Lankford. She loved gospel singing, gardening and her family. She spent most of her life in Elkmont. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Terry Wayne Williamson.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Clemmons of Elkmont; one son, Roger Williamson of Blountsville; one daughter, Joyce Wisdom of Silver Springs, Fla., four brothers, Jimmy Lankford of Hillsville, Va., Ronnie Lankford of Joppa, James Lankford of Toney and Charles Lankford of Elkton, Tenn.; several half brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Clura Goodin
The funeral for Clura Coffman Stanford Goodin, 87, of Elkmont will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Arvid McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Goodin died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born Oct. 8, 1919, to Thomas Jesse and Grace McGuire Coffman.
Mrs. Goodin worked for many years as a seamstress at Athens Lingerie. She was a member of the Golden Age Rhythm Band and volunteered for RSVP. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved crocheting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Julius “Juke” Stanford, and Lawrence Eugene Goodin, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage; and her brothers, Carl Coffman, J.C. Coffman and Clayton Coffman.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Stanford and wife Ellen, and Steve Goodin and wife Betty, all of Athens; one daughter, Lynell Clem and husband Deryl of Athens; grandchildren, Jenny Letson and husband Tim of Decatur; Christopher Stanford and wife Leisl of Athens; Traci Collins and husband Dale of Athens; Stephanie Drieling and husband Joe of Huntsville; Angie Flaherty and husband Neal of Athens; Lori Jewell and husband Chris of Athens; and Laura Beth Rouillier and husband Brad of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Travis Letson, Mari Jen Letson, Luke Jewell, Logan Collins and Lawrence “Lars” Stanford; three sisters, Clara Hicks and husband James of Elkmont, Carrie Parrish of Columbia, Tenn., and Carnell Thorne and husband Pete of Minor Hill, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Moss, Tommie Smith, Fred Robertson, Chris Stanford, Glen Pressnell and James Luna.
Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
Wendell Lawrence Mitchell
The funeral for Wendell Lawrence Mitchell, 88, of Athens will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Owens officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Mitchell died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 9, 1918, in Morgan County. He retired from Monsanto and was a member of Central Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kate Mitchell, and one sister, Oleta Mitchell Lester.
He is survived by his wife, Hester Easter Mitchell of Athens; one brother, J.W. Mitchell of Birmingham; and nieces and nephews.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
