APD charges suspect in home burglary

An Athens man is facing a burglary charge in connection with a home break-in Monday.

Athens Police Detective Sgt. Johnny Campbell was called to investigate a burglary Monday night on Airfield Street and developed Wade Deion Trousdale, 33, 25442 Craft Road, as a suspect, Lt. Trevor Harris said Wednesday.

“On Tuesday afternoon, police received a tip that Trousdale was found at a local business trying to sell items similar to property stolen during the burglary,” Harris said.

After investigating, Campbell arrested Trousdale on one count of third-degree burglary, records show.

He was transferred to the Limestone County Jail, where bail was set at $2,500 on the felony charge, records show.

The property, which included jewelry, was recovered from Trousdale and returned to the owners, Harris said.
