County Clerk-Administrator Pam Ball has been appointed to fill a seat on the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association board of directors.
The Limestone County Commission met in work session Wednesday to revise the board appointment plan and add Ball to the tourism promotion organization.
The commission will meet in regular session Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex, one day late because of the Labor Day holiday.
Also at Wednesday’s work session, which as was customary, held as an adjournment from the last regular meeting’s session, the commission also approved Draka Communications to install fiber cable for the information technology department at a cost of $110,482.
Tuesday’s agenda
Tuesday’s agenda will include these items for possible approval:
• Association of County Commissioners of Alabama resolution on liability self-insurance fund participation;
• Authorization to conduct annual tax sales;
• Agreement with the city of Huntsville to accept funds to purchase equipment in support of the Metropolitan Medical Response System;
• Hiring Lisa Hice as a corrections officer;
• Merit increases;
• Preliminary approval for two subdivisions: Legacy Grove Addition 5 in District 2; and Shields Subdivision in District 1;
• Posting of a 7-ton weight limit on Wooley Spring Road Bridge over Little Piney Creek in District 1;
• Request by Wesley Crouch for the county to vacate the drainage and utility easement along the south boundary of Lot 7 of the Pepper Ridge Estates Subdivision;
• Removal of Market Forge steamer from the jail’s inventory;
• Placing of three pieces of equipment, a 1-ton Explorer, a litter bus and a snow blade, on GovDeals.com at the request of District 1 Commissioner Gary Daly;
• Resurfacing with plant mix of two roads, Holeada Lane and Plum Lane, in District 2 at the request of Commissioner Gerald Barksdale;
• Resurfacing with plant mix two roads, Lakeside Estates and Curtis, in District 4 at the request of District 4 Commissioner Bill Daws.
