— HAZEL GREEN, Ala. (AP) — Three people are dead after a head-on collision in Madison County on Sunday night.
State troopers say the crash happened around 11:30 in Hazel Green. Roads were closed near the wreckage until about 4 a.m.
A passenger in one of the cars was able to escape from the wreckage before the vehicle burst into flames. She was airlifted to a local hospital and was listed in serious condition.
State police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Hazel Green is about 17 miles north of Huntsville.
