Limestone County residents can expect a cold day today, with a slight chance of flurries. No travel issues are expected, however.
Today’s high temperatures are not expected to make it above 38, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville. Tonight’s low will be 23.
Sunshine is expected to return Sunday, for the first time in several days. The cold will stick around, however, with a high reaching only 41 degrees. Sunday night’s low will be 28 degrees.
Rain will return to the forecast New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, as a 30 percent chance of rain is predicted for both days. Temperatures will be slightly warmer with highs in the low 50s.

Madison County sheriff's deputies say a fight broke out during the party. Authorities said people jumped someone at the party, who then began shooting.

Athens seeks to support Oklahoma
The Police Department is inviting the public to gather Friday, May 24, at noon on the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse. There will be a short commemorative service for the tornado victims and first responders in Oklahoma.
