• Special services. First Baptist Church Tanner will hold a month of special Sunday services called Super September Sunday Nights. Music Evangelist Ronnie Cottingham will be at the church at 6 p.m. Sept. 9.

• Centennial. Nebo Community Church at Jones Crossroads will celebrate 100 years during a homecoming celebration Sept. 9. Events begin at 9 a.m. with morning worship; a congregational singing and gospel bluegrass will begin at 10:15 a.m. Members will serve lunch on the grounds from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., followed by a church history service led by Dave Hurst. Storyteller Debra Gooch will share highlights on Sunday school and vacation Bible school memories as well as reflections on former members who have contributed to the success of the church.
