ATHENS — An honor guard places a wreath Thursday in front of the law-enforcement memorial marker on the Limestone County Courthouse Square. The Athens Police Department hosted the inaugural Police Memorial Day event on the Square, which featured participation from Mayor Ronnie Marks, the Athens City Council and officers with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department.
