I-565 work slated for this weekend

— Resurfacing work slated for Interstate 565 this weekend will result in lane closures.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will be working on east and west-bound sides of the interstate between mile markers 5.096 and 7.018 Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be at least one lane open to traffic in both directions during the project to replace the aging wearing surface. A work zone speed limit of 50 mph will be strictly enforced.

Motorists are advised to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in the area.
