Kelli S. Powers of Lanett has accepted the position of CEO of Athens-Limestone Hospital and will join the staff in late March, according to Jim Moffat, chairman of the ALH Board of Directors.
Moffatt told the hospital management team of the appointment on Tuesday.
Powers was CEO with Lanier Health Services in Valley. She also served as chief financial officer for Lanier and director of revenue integrity for Baptist Health Systems in Montgomery.
“Mrs. Powers came to us with over 18 years of comprehensive healthcare experience. She demonstrates a hands-on management style in the implementation of strategic plans,” said Moffatt. “We also found Kelli to be personable and felt that her management style would complement the already strong management team that exists at ALH today.”
Several candidates were interviewed by ALH management, ALH physicians, Huntsville Hospital leadership and the ALH Board of Directors before the offer was extended to Powers.
“We are excited to have Kelli Powers join the Athens team and we look forward to working with her,” Huntsville Hospital CEO David Spillers said. “She brings valuable experience and knowledge of the healthcare issues facing Alabama hospitals.”
