Voters within the county’s seven school board districts affected by new district lines should receive information this week detailing the changes.
The new lines, based on the 2010 U.S. Census, have been approved by the U.S. Department of Justice. The changes have also been implemented by the county’s Board of Registrars and will affect about 14,000 voters.
Felix Liveoak, chairman of the Board of Registrars, said voting places remain the same, though new voter cards are being mailed to those affected. These changes are effective for the Nov. 6 general election.
Anyone with questions can call Board of Registrars at 256-233-6405 or visit http://www.alabamavotes.gov for individual voter status.
