Alabama Gov. Bob Riley has agreed to help launch Athens Mayor Dan Williams’ campaign for the District 5 seat in the state House of Representatives.
The governor will speak at Williams’ campaign kickoff Tuesday night in the Athens State University ballroom.
Williams is the Republican candidate for the 5th District seat in the state house.
His opponents in the Nov. 2 general election will be independent candidate Jerry Hill and incumbent Democrat Henry White.
