Flash flood warning for southeast Limestone County until 8:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for southeastern Limestone County and southwestern Madison County until 8:30 p.m.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing  heavy rain in the affected areas.   Up to 2 inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding can be expected as additional heavy rain occurs.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Madison and rural areas in Limestone County between U.S. 72 and Interstate 65.

Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road.
