Hazardous weather today

— The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for North Alabama and Southern Tennessee through the rest of today. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to move northwest across the region. A few of the storms in the evening and afternoon could become strong to severe, especially over areas near and East of Interstate 65.

Strong to damaging winds will be the primary threat and a brief tornado is possible. Heavy rainfall of up to three inches could case flash floods during the heaviest showers. Check www.enewscourier.com for updates on these storms as they progress this afternoon.
