It’s time for severe weather awareness week, and to most Limestone County residents, using that phrase is like asking them to recite multiplication tables: it’s something known backward and forward.
They can tell you where they were on April 27, 2011, and March 2 of last year. They can point out their steel-reinforced storm shelters and program their NOAA weather radios with their eyes closed.
But nature never asks who’s ready for the storm.
Even though it’s a familiar routine, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service are always ready to give out the tips and tricks to severe weather preparation.
