Fire department fundraiser not a scam

— The East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department is currently participating in a fundraiser and wants residents to know it’s not a scam.

Treasurer Kasey Brown said the department works with a company called Excalibur Marketing each year to sell photo packages to raise funds for the department. Representatives from the group go door-to-door to sell the packages.

For a $40 donation, Brown said, a family can get a free photo package.

Targeted areas include neighborhoods from the Madison County line to the city of Athens.
