Detours set for drainage improvements

— Drainage improvements to access ramps to U.S. 31 from U.S. 72 will require drivers to take detours.

Beginning Tuesday the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the southern ramp of U.S. 31 accessing U.S. 72. The closure detour route will be Freeman Drive to Boleyn Street.

Upon completion of the improvements, ALDOT will close the northbound ramp accessing U.S. 72. Again, the closure detour route will be Freeman Drive to Boleyn Street.

The project is anticipated to take approximately three working days. Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones and along detour routes.
