Those in Limestone County who are looking to get down and dirty during the 24th annual CASA Mud Volleyball Tournament in Athens need to register by noon today. Organizers said they are extending the deadline through today or until a total of 80 have registered for the event.
A team should consist of eight players, with at least two being female. The fee is $15 per player; that guarantees a shirt to each player if signed up by Friday at noon.
CASA stands for Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound. All money raised goes to helping the elderly and homebound in Limestone County. Those services include trips to medical appointments, construction of wheelchair ramps, home winterization and case management.
The Mud Volleyball Tournament will be held starting at 9 a.m. July 21 and continuing until late afternoon.
The event will take place at Swan Creek Park by Athens High School. Spectators can watch the muddy action for free.
For more information, call CASA at 256-777-1038.
