Governor to announce more streamlining

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Gov. Robert Bentley says he's moving ahead with streamlining state government and he will make an announcement Thursday involving law enforcement programs.

The Republican governor has already worked with the Legislature to combine the state Labor Department and the Department of Industrial Relations. He's also combined the state's industrial training and industrial recruitment programs into the Department of Commerce.

Bentley told a Montgomery civic club Tuesday that he expects the streamlining to save millions.
